How to prepare the image: resize it for Web, making the image 240-260 pixels tall, with 72 dpi resolution. Please write the name of the picture followed by your name in the bottom, on the added canvas sized 16 pixels. The font is Arial Narrow Italic, size 12, black color.

The International Photography Awards conducts an annual competition on a global level, creating one of the most ambitious and comprehensive competitions in the photography world today. This year's entries spanned 103 countries worldwide with approximately 15,000 submissions. Jurors had the challenging task of reducing that number to 330 winners and 21 Finalists who will go on to compete for three top awards - International Photographer of the Year, sponsored by AtEdge, The Discovery of the Year awarded to a non professional, and the Deeper Perspective Photographer of the Year awarded to the photographer whose story behind the images are just as compelling as the photographs themselves. Those finalists will be invited to attend the Lucie Awards at the Lincoln Center, New York, where one photographer will be announced as the International Photographer of the Year, earning the coveted Lucie Statue and a cash prize of $10,000. Dave Ackerman has two images accepted to the Trenton Artist Workshop Summer exhibition, "Face Value, The Art of Portraiture". The exhibition opens July 31 at the Ellarslie Trenton City Museum with a 5 - 8pm Gala. The exhibit runs through September 5.

Joanna Antanavagehas several images in the Grounds for Sculpture Workshops Exhibition.

Frank Cheh had his first magazine cover published. Frank's spectacular image graces the Summer 2010 issue of Skylands Visitor magazine.

Maia Reim's verdant image "Red mailbox" won the "Best Photo" award at the popular Franklin Township Clothesline exhibit, July 2nd, 2010.

Johnny Perna will have a show at the Somerset County Library in Bridgewater, across from the Bridgewater Post Office, on the corner of North Bridge Street and Voight Road in Bridgewater, NJ. Show runs from August 2, 2010 to August 31,2010.

Dalet Gallery, Philadelphia. The "Particular Beauty" exhibition will run from July 15 to August 15. An opening reception is planned for July 16 from 4 to 8 pm. Gallery 14 Juried Exhibit, July 9 to August 8, 2010. The opening reception is set for Friday, July 9, 6-9 PM. Gallery 14 is located at 14 Mercer Street, in beautiful downtown Hopewell, NJ.

Jerry Spielman currently has a solo exhibit in The West Windsor Senior Center in the Municipal Complex at North Post and Clarksville Roads. Jerry is showing about 35 recent travel photographs from the Carribean to Alaska. (Sample below) You can visit the show through June 30.

Linda Sheehan's image, "Flight," on display at the Philadelphia Photo Arts Center was sold on opening night! We knew it was a marvelous photo--the lucky buyer apparently agreed. James Pryor was awarded "First Place in Photography" in the 2010 16th Annual Artsbridge Juried Show. You can see the exhibit now through June 27th at the RiverRun Gallery, 287 South Main Street (Route 29), Lambertville, NJ.

Tasha O'Neill has an image accepted for publication in "Experience on the Water," a New England lifestyle glossy magazine. Her image will accompany an article about art in the garden.

Simon Laufer won a Bronze Award in The Epson International Pano Awards competition for his panoramic image, Tuolumne Meadows 2. Learn more about this international competition at www.thepanoawards.com

Igor Svibilsky received a Merit Award in 2010 B&W Magazine Portfolio Contest Awards. The selected images from the winning portfolio "Ancient Oaks" are published in a special issue 76, currently available in stores. The entire portfolio was exhibited during a month of May at SoHo Photo Gallery New York.

Kevin Wong will have two photos exhibited in the 2010 Michael H. Kellicutt International Photo Show "Through a Lens: Energy, Strength, or Power." Igor Svibilsky signed a contract with the SLR Lenses manufacturer Lensbaby Inc., about using his images in the pinhole gallery of the company's Web site, http://www.lensbaby.com/gallery-photo.php?o=pinhole

Glennie Nature Salon - Sandy Shapiro's photo, Galapagos Sea Lions, won a Merit Award in the 2010 George W. Glennie Memorial Nature Salon. The "Glennie" is an international interclub competition run by the Merrimack Valley Camera Club in North Andover, Massachusetts. Igor Svibilsky's contribution to a book: "A Tribute to New Jersey Veterans". The picture that has been selected is a photograph of Hessian re-enactors attacking at a re-enactment of the Battle of Monmouth, taken in 2008.
The book has been published in July 2009.

One of our past presidents Jessica Stearns won Best in Show for her entire series. To quote the judge Thomas Roma, "I selected Jessica Stearns' outstanding suite of clouds for particular mention. Considering the lack of "subject matter" - as we think of it - in the work, these pieces truly demonstrate a maximum use of photography in its purest form."
